Application Information

People who attain the age of 14 can apply as an apprentice

• Person of or over the age of 14 years and under the age of 19 years when entered into Designated Trades specified under the Apprenticeship Ordinance must register the apprenticeship contract at the Office of the Director of Apprenticeship;
• Person of or over the age of 14 years and under the age of 19 years who entered into Non-designated Trades can have the apprenticeship contract registered with the Office of the Director of Apprenticeship on voluntary basis;
• Person of over the age of 19 years who entered into apprenticeship can have the apprenticeship contract registered with the Office of the Director of Apprenticeship on voluntary basis irrespective of Designated Trades or Non-designated Trades.

The Office of the Director of Apprenticeship will categorize the level of apprenticeship according to the entry academic qualification of the young people:

• Craft Apprentice (Diploma level)
• Technician Apprentice (Higher Diploma level)
